These are my top favorite double exposure designs. For the last few weeks, I have been overwhelmed with a creative block. Every artist can relate to what I was going through. I wanted to create something unique and beautiful but where do I begin? On top of my creative block, my eyesight is slowly getting worse. I know that I will not be totally blind but every day is a new challenge. How do I keep creating art like many visually impaired art before have done and stay motivated in the process?
Right now I am really excited and motivated. I was hit with a huge amount of inspiration that will hold me for years to come. Just recently I learned about Creative limitation. In short what it is is that instead of sorting through a wide range of options Creative limitation forces you to choose just a few options and just stick with that and nothing more. For example, take 2 of your favorite fruits and draw them together in different arrangements. You can ONLY use 2 fruits and 2 colors and that's it, nothing more. If you had to do that for a week trust me you will get creative real fast. I found that there is freedom in limitations. Yes, it is hard at first but your mind will look for ways to get creative with the few choices you have.
This is what I did to create these works of art that you see and I have so many more to come. I am excited by this idea. I really look forward to studying creative limitations. For the next week, I will be creating with silhouettes and trees. I can't wait to show you what I come up with. Stay Tuned.
Have you used Creative Limitations in your artwork? I would love to hear how you applied this to your art and to your life. Please leave a comment below.
God Bless
